About the role

We are searching for a superstar to join our team as a Supervisor within our boat manufacturing plant. The successful person in this role will be responsible for our Hull Tack Weld team.

This is a full time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. 

Reporting to the Factory Manager, this position is primarily responsible for the supervision, mentoring and training of our teams of which can comprise of up to 10-12 employees. You will oversee all aspects of quality control, boat building, and health and safety. Supervisors are also responsible for achieving maximum productivity from their relevant section of the Plant, (as measured against agreed Key Performance Indicators), and ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner, adhering to Telwater standards and systems.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Resolve any discrepancies and ambiguities regarding conditions against drawings, methods, and project specifications.
  • Organise workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Oversee, train and coach employees.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring all related documentation is maintained
  • Ensure productivity time frames are met
  • Performance management of staff within the team
  • Mentor, guide, and support the team
  • Meet all internal KPI's

Desired Skills and Experience

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory/ team leadership role
  • Previous experience in production supervision in a manufacturing environment, preferably in welding trades
  • Proven ability to coach team members
  • High level communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in conflict resolution, implementation of corrective actions
  • Commitment to Health and Safety - 5S Health and Safety Audits
  • Ability to implement Company policies and model standards of behaviour, leading by example
  • Valid Drivers' Licence
  • Proficient in the use of computer-based software, particularly Google based products (Gmail, Google Docs, Google drive)
