About the role
Telwater, a leading boat manufacturer in the marine industry, is seeking a dedicated and driven HSE Officer to join our team. As the HSE Officer , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees across all aspects of our factory operations. This position provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to become a key part of our business. This is a permanent full-time position, based onsite in Coomera. Hours of work are 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the development and rollout of health, safety, and environmental procedures to ensure they meet legislative requirements and company standards.
Carrying out regular workplace inspections and audits, reporting hazards and risks, and assisting leaders with follow-up actions.
Providing day-to-day support on WHS matters to supervisors and employees and helping to promote safe work practices across the site.
Coordinating and delivering safety-related training and toolbox talks to help build safety awareness and capability.
Assisting with incident reporting processes, including gathering information, completing documentation, and supporting investigations.
Contributing to ongoing improvements by maintaining safety records, helping identify trends, and preparing updates for factory meetings.
Coordinating the return-to-work process, including liaising with employees, supervisors, and medical providers and maintaining required documentation.
Desired Skills and Experience
What we are looking for:
Experience in a manufacturing environment or similar (preferred).
A relevant work health and safety qualification, minimum Certificate IV level or above.
Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to work well with a wide range of people across the business.
Ability to provide day‑to‑day support and guidance to staff on health, safety, and environmental matters.
Good understanding of WHS regulations and company safety requirements.
Experience assisting with risk assessments and helping implement control measures.
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to help deliver safety-related training and toolbox talks.
Experience assisting with incident reporting and investigations.
Experience supporting return‑to‑work processes and maintaining required documentation.
