About the role

We are currently seeking a new Mechanical Engineer to join our Production Engineering team. This role would suit a new graduate or someone currently studying who is looking for their first engineering opportunity. 

In this role you will be involved in developing efficient systems, processes and machines that result in the production of our high-quality products. You will also look to identify opportunities to streamline our manufacturing processes and workflows to maximise efficiencies and overall productivity. You will learn how to develop and optimize tooling and machinery for new product introduction and continuous improvement in operational KPIs. You will also be required to troubleshoot processes to achieve quality standards and optimise asset utilisation.

This is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm, based onsite in our Coomera manufacturing facility. 

Duties will include: 

  • Work within the Production Engineering team to develop complex tooling and machinery from the concept up to the final delivery protocol
  • Develop understanding in dimensional analysis and process-machinery and manual jigs troubleshooting 
  • Tooling selection after cost and life analysis 
  • Develop process manufacturing skills in Machining, Welding, Plasma cutting
  • Work with factory and engineering for all automated needs
  • Develop 3D design skills 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

What we are looking for

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or working towards
  • Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Ability to multitask yourself across multiple projects  
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Understanding of/ exposure to relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Full Australian working rights
